The Abbeyglen Castle Hotel had a very interesting sign in all of the bathrooms.
Just in case you were wondering....
More great Irish music
Ireland is much farther north than I expected. The moon rose at about 10:30 in the evening. It was a pretty sight as it rose over Clifden.
The next morning, we were headed for Dublin but not before a stop at the magnificent Kylemore Abbey. Located across from the main entrance to the Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey is amazing.
Everything about Kylemore Abbey was incredible.
The lakes, the mountains, the forest, and the beautiful walled garden are all spectacular. Although the mountains of the Connemara can be stark, this must be the most beautiful spot in the entire region.
Simply gorgeous
One of the surprises of Kylemore was the small gothic church built on the grounds.
The church is one the most beautiful chapels I have ever seen.
The stonework inside is incredible. The craftmanship was so intricate, the edges were sharp.
What a beautiful place!
A quick group picture at Kylemore Abbey.
When the King of England visited Kylemore, he was thinking that it might be the perfect location for a royal retreat. It is said that once he was at the abbey, he concluded that the cost of maintaining such an estate would be much too expensive for a king.
The mountains of the Connemara from the beautiful Kylemore Abbey.
The Walled Garden was so much more than any of us expected.
This is the first half.
The flowers were awesome.
This is the second half
Coralie took a whole series of pictures of the flowers
Kylemore is not to be missed. It is really a special place.
